aero catches

just wandering if anybody has ever put aero catches on a mini? demon tweaks sell them and grand prix racewear sell them too. anybody had experience with them??

can't seem to find them on their website, do you have a picture? are they like the dzus fastners?

they are like bonnet pins, but housed in a nice fancy alloy piece. You flip the "lid" and the pin is pulled out.

I like the fact that you can get them with locks...in an RAC stylee, that'll lower you're insurance quote. Well, every little helps when your in the male 18-21 category.

Yep, I've used them - see http://www.theminifo...showtopic=28500 where you an just about make them out on the rear of the new flip front and the pins on the door post in the last picture.

They are expensive but are a nice piece of kit. However they are not best suited to being used as I have as the catch doesn't approach the pin straight on so they need a little 'modifying'.

How do you fit them to your bonnet?? I need some as am worried about the bonnet, flip front or even my engine going missing if parked somewhere dodgy :'(

just cut a hole that the catch can sit in and the bolt it to the front then jus work out where the pin has to go on the underside. quite easy to fit. ;)
