Hi;

As it says in the title in the boot and the floor of my Mini where I have been de-rusting and repairing several drain holes? covers have been removed (rusted away) or just popped out.

Should I replace them or weld them shut?

Also where I have been making my own floor repairs how important are the indentations in the floor, the ones that coincide (not sure if they do) with the flutes on the outer sill. Should I try to replicate them if so any pics to help?

I have omitted the first flute in the back so the outer edge of the floor is now flat.

Here's the LH Rear Corner:

The drain holes i would weld up to be honest. if you are getting that much water in then you have serious issues.

As to the flutes they are there for a reason and that's to help strengthen the floor. If you can add them by fabricating your own then happy days.
