Could anyone recommend tyres to replace the standard 145/70 x 12s on a 1.3i Mini Seven.

i would go up to 165 Yoko 539's.

exelent in the dry, good in the wet plus they look cool

urm yes and no, but a good 145/70/12 is the pirreli p3000, most of the others tyres are poop

My mate runs thses on his VTEC (when he ain't using the Avon slicks down the drag strip) and he swears by them.

So Yoko A539's sound like ya best bet.

539's are great dry tyres but poo in the rain, go for 21R's if they make them in that size,Most of the 'Hogia Werin Datws' around here use them on nighters and handle like nothing else!
If not it has to be 539's

u can get 165/60 x 12 that will fit as long as the wheels arent too slim

Where do you get this from? They are a fantastic tyre in the rain, what experiance have you had to come to that conclusion? People wouldn't be using them as a wet race tyre if they were 'poo in the rain'.

I think this is a popular myth propogated by people who, wrongly, think a good wet tyre shoud give as much grip as a dry tyre.

The pirillis are a good 145 section tyre, but the Yokos will go on.

i've just put 539s on the front - they're incredible, loads better than the old ones. its not been properly wet yet for me to see how they handle but im sure they'll be loads better.

539's are an awsome tyre in the wet and dry, great all rounder with plenty of grip, and if you loose it with 539's then your are pushing to hard for the conditions, and more to the point your driving your car in a style not suitable for the public roads

Is £182.40 for four of the A539's (on 12") wheel reasonable ?

Nobody mentioned Falkens, I wonder how these compare to the yokos? the Falkens seem a very popular tyre and I prefer the normal looks of them, yes I know looks is not the most important aspect to look for.

I had some A008's years ago and didn't like them at all, I believe some of the later ones used a softer compound to the ones I had. I guess this experience has put me off Yokohama tyres a bit, even though in reality the best tyres I've ever had were Yoko A001's, a brilliant tyre.

So has anyone any experience with Falkens in this size?
