Hey all hope you can help, just got back from mitp and the I thought a door seal was the reason why my footwells were full of water. However on the drive home ( with heavy rain) I had water pouring in somewhere behind the dash. It was running down the steering rack and onto my feel, and in the passenger side dripping from the front of the lower dash.. Any ideas?.

No visible leaks from the doors ( new door seal fitted) and the A pillars are dry. Rear footwells are also ringing wet!

I think I should become a fair weather driver!

Get the hose out and work your way up. it could be coming in from where the air vents fit as they're proned to rust, windscreen rubber, where the heater hose and other cables goes in...

Holes in the bulk head, such as where the master cylinders are. Could be leaking from lack of grommet around the heater hose if this goes through that area.

My definitive list of wet front footwell causes*

Door seals

Door check arm seals

Cabin heater matrix leaking

Sunroof

Rusty door bottoms, inner-side

Plastic sheeting under door cards missing or broken

Incorrect door alignment

Metal strip outside window missing or mis-aligned

Oversills (if you have them) filling up with water and rusting the floor/inner sill

Missing footwell drain grommet

Rust or missing grommets in bulkhead/flitch panel

Windscreen rubber not sealing properly or rust at bottom of windscreen surround (especially if your windscreen is going white at the bottom)

*Although there may be others.
