I just bought some Group 2 Race arches from Minisport at MITP and they measure at 3.5 inch at the middle of the arch, as stated on the Minisport website.
Would anyone with Group 6 arches be kind enough to take the same measurement for me to compare? The Huddersfield Spares website states that these are 3.75" wide at the middle of the arch.
They are supposedly the same arches, though I am just after conformation.

Group 6 arches can be any width because 'Group 6' was for prototype sports cars with no minimum production volumes. So manufacturers wishing to compete with a non-series production car, or a production car with non-homologated parts could enter as a Group 6 car so long as the safety requirements were met.
The safety requirements included dual braking system which caused a few issues for cars like the Mini or the Escort Mk.1. Group 6 included rally cars with engines not originally fitted to that model, e.g.: Anglia with Lotus-Cortina Twin-Cam engine or 1760 cc cross-flow Escort. Some of these G'p 6 cars had non-homologated wheel widths, so extra wide arches could be made to suit. They were of no specific width, just made to suit.
I thought you folk might like to know where the expression 'Group 6' came from.

Cheers, good bit of info that. I was mainly referring to the Huddersfield spares arches as I have seen some on another car and they fit really well with 6 inch wide mb wheels.
Looks like i'll be taking a ruler to Minifest!
