Hi there all!

Got mini through MOT ( yay :D)

So i'm fiddeling with all the styling parts I have like my spotlights, louvre,..

Now I'm thinking : fitting 4 wipac spot lights, on a rally/race look car.. Isn't that a bit contradicting? I mean they add extra weight and take away cooling..

Any ideas on this? What is the advantage of having 4 working spotlights in front of the grille?

Or are there other places here I could mount them without real extra costs?

cheers and thanks for your input guys:)

You won't gain much with 4 Wipacs auxiliary lights.

If you want better lighting go for a pair of Cibie units as I have on my rally cars. This is what a Mini rally car looks like:

I doubt it would make that much difference ot the cooling. We have 4 lights on the front of our car, no overheating issues what so ever. Plus Rover fitted them as standard too.....................

Damn that one looks beautifull!
I don't need extra lights though, they are only for the looks :P

But just wondering because I heard some story's about cars overheating etc :l

Having spot/driving lights across the front is not known to cause overheating.

It might not help the oil pressure/oil temp. if you also have a sump guard, as all rally cars have in which case an oil cooler is needed.

From experience I wouldn't buy wipac lights for styling. Mine pitted within 3months but they were only there over the winter as I drive through areas with no lighting, unless that's what look your going for. If it is, drop me a PM and I'll get them in the post for you haha.

Already bought them mate ; bought them in oktober/december :)

But I only heard about the overheating recently, and it wasn't until now ( after MOT) that I as able to fit them.. Probably will be fitting them in the comming week, I'll try spraying a clearcoat over them so they don't pit.. :)

cheers
