My new improved heater valve from minispares has exploded this weekend, was fitted a while ago but hasn't covered any more than 2k since, Ive noticed minispares dont have them anymore, think im going to put a take off on the head and just have permanent heat, I cant do with these letting me down in the most awkward places,

hot3032-bu.jpgI have ordered one of these from DSN Classics, hopefully does the trick, no moving parts to go wrong!

Or you can by the simple vertical ones and a 90o pipe (that's what I did).

It's worth noting though that not having a valve makes it very uncomfortable in summer. There will be cries of 'just open the windows' which is fine, until you're sat in traffic sweating profusely.

I ended up grafting an electronic bypass valve from a Ford into the heater system to help reduce the cabin temperatures.

I do 800-1500 miles a year, Ill have to cope with the heat,  before i fitted the auxiliary electric rad fan, I used to have to sit in traffic with heaters on full blast to help stop the engine overheating!!  last time a heater valve exploded coolant everywhere was in traffic shortly after leaving crystal palace on a London to Brighton run!! mocked up a blanking plate with a scrap of metal found on the side of the road and a Starbucks cup, then completed L2B!
