so after running about with it on a direct 12v feed and watching the fuel gauge go down rather quick i started to investigate again

94 spi

what i have checked

- the fule pump works

- no power comeing out of the connection that goes into the fule pump

- disconnected crash cut of, wired the two wires together - no change

- took 12v from fuse box and connected to the crash cut off wires - got pump to work, but this is the same as having it perminatly wired up as it does not turn off when up to pressure

- checked every bullet connector behind the grill, but then found out there are two different types of loomes and the guy that fixed the same problem i have got on his has the other type of loom, so the wire connection he cleaned up is not there on my loom -_-

- checked every fuse with a bulb across a battery, including the 4 under the steering colum

any other ideas or anyone had this problem before ??

My mpi was was off the road for a few months trying to find a similar problem with fuel pump not priming etc after a bodywork restoration. Try checking the main wiring loom thoughroughly,I took mine to an auto electrician who found the problem to be a nick in the main wiring loom. My car is an mpi buy the symptoms seem similar.
