Hi, we have a Mini Cooper year 2000 1275 MPi. Does anyone know whether this model has an oil dipstick tube fitted to the block or not. I believe earlier mini has a guide tube. The reason I am asking, this car does not have one and it seems very loose as if the rubber stop on the stick has warn.   Cheers any help

Eric

If it's any help, my MPI doesn't have a tube, which is a late 1999. The original was a bit loose, so I bought a Cooper one and it is pretty tight.

The A+ block does not have a tube where as the A series block does ( one of the differences )...

Dipsticks, however, for all variants have the same length and scale.

I suspect that the O ring on yours has perished over time and is why it is loose.
