It seems to be going through oil quite quickly. Whenever I open the bonnet the rocker cover is covered in it. There is a vented oil filler cap, and the engine has been rebored to 1380. Sorry if this is scarce information, this is my first mini and post here! Thanks!

This suggests that there is excess pressure building up in the crankcase.
This could something serious like blowby. Or maybe just a terrible cap. Positive crankcase ventilation not plumbed into the carb? Who knows. Well..not me, but someone on here might.

As above, Welcome and do post pictures of the engine bay.

Since we know your engine is a carb conversion it is very likely that the crankcase breather system is not hooked up or functioning correctly.  Pictures will aid that discussion.

I'm 90% sure it's the cap! Should it be vented or not? Also just another Q, is 10w40 the best oil?? Thanks very much, sorry for bombarding you with questions!

Oh sorry, I cleaned it all up earlier. When it was there it was on the rocker cover mainly.

Dusky, is that something I should connect? Once again I apologise about my complete lack of knowledge!
