Been to see a t25 camper thats a non runner but too cheap to turn down the offer.

Need to transport it just over 50 miles, on a flatbed type transporter as obviously its very heavy and a car with a trailer wont hack it.

NO MOT etc so no towing it with wheels on the floor either.

I figured Ford Transit type recovery will be out as well as it will be over the weight limit?

Anyone have any experience of this/used anyone in the midlands area?

Any idea of a rough cost per mile?

Is a transporter/trailer and tow car really not up to it? Admittedly you would need the right transporter, a reasonable tow car and the right licence, but I can't see a T25 being much over 2 tonnes and in my experience most car transporters tend to have a max payload of at least 2 - 2.5 tonnes. I've certainly seen a number of VW campers on trailers being towed on a trailer before, and most of those were T1's & T2's, which I'd imagine to be significantly heavier than the later models.

Try a website called anyvan. You put the job up of what you want shipping and people bid on it.

I moved two cars 34 miles and that cost me £56, although because it was two cars it took longer to load and unload so I would image as you are only wanting one vehicle moving the price would come down.

Had a quick search and it would seem that the unladen weight of a T25 is 1440kgs, but that's just the basic panel van though. As we're talking about  campervan, then you would have to take into consideration the weight of the conversion as well, which will be dependent on the particular builder and model. The maximum laden weight appears to be  2360kg though, so it should be well under that figure and therefore within the weight limit of a larger transporter/trailer.

Oh & I also found this too, so it would seem someone's managed it with a trailer before..
