Best Way To Remove The Shear Bolts From Pedal Box ?

Is it best to grind them out there ain't much room to do this help please

Cut a slot in the head, be it hacksaw or angle grinder and have at it with a screw drive

Its more likely security no? If they wanted the correct torque, they would use torque wrenches

possibly....

we use the in the aircraft industry for torque though

This is clearly something that is not on early cars....  Where on the pedal box do they use shear bolts?

Yep they're supposed to be sheared off from the factory. The idea is was to stop criminal types from breaking into the car, unbolting the column putting a different one in starting it up and driving away.

This is clearly something that is not on early cars....  Where on the pedal box do they use shear bolts?  

I think they are talking about the sheer bolt at the front of the pedal box where the column bolts to it through the lower dash rail.

Mine weren't sheered so I just undid them.

 

I assume they weren't sheered off in the factory
