Hi, this might be a silly question, but I have a new front subframe that I have been given, I have no idea what year or engine size it was originally for, is there any way of telling ??
It's the type with the large tower bolts :)
Thanks for any help.

Doesn't matter what size engine you have, it'll take a 998 or a 1275. I don't think the front subframe was different for earlier cars, there all the same I believe, could be wrong though.

Obviously, there are two separate front subframes though, one for a manual and one for an automatic.

Thanks for the fast reply. Ah fair enough, I had the feeling some mounted the engine slightly further forward, what's the diff with the autos?

The engine mounts are different on an auto I believe, but you can buy the automatic to manual engine mounts if needed.

There is a 4 bolt subframe older and a 2 bolt newer type. By this I am talking about the tower bolts(the ones next to the dash in the engine bay)  :-)
