This is my first proper post so if it is in the wrong place please tell me haha. Basically I want to put a pair of bucket seats in my mini. I'm basically wondering how easy it is to fit the harnesses without a rollcage or bar. I believe that you can attach them to the original seatbelt mounts. Any pictures of how this looks would be appreciated. Also any suggestions on what fairly cheap seats are good would be appreciated thanks.

you could mount them directly to the back seat belt bolts but then some say the angle of the belts is wrong and the back seat isnt strong enough. Ive ran mine to the back seat for years and never had any issues.

Best way is to fit 2 x reinforcing strips made from 1.5" x 1/4" steel inside the boot right at the bottom of the rear seat upright panel. Make the strips around 6" long and weld them in place.
Then drill through for large belt attachment eyes, one each side, inside the car and mount the eye bolt to the strips using a large nut & washer. Either weld the nut in place or 'lock-peen' it to prevent it ever coming loose. The shoulder straps then fit from these eye-bolts and if there is a requirement to have the rear seats fitted the belts simply come up between back and base of the seat. The belts go up to and over the shoulders at an almost ideal angle and this method is approved for motor sport. The lap straps go to the existing belt mountings.
If the seats have high sides there will be slotted holes in the sides of the seats for the lap straps.
