Me and a mate were assembling my new engine today, we put the con rod and piston in and attached it to the crank.

We turned the engine over to see if it was all working and number three conrod hit a cam lobe (see pic). Could this be because I haven't done the cam timing and it's massively out or put the duplex kit on?

It's a 1310 with standard 1275 rods and Kent 276 cam.

Cheers for any help.

I would have said your timing is out. Could be wrong though.

As Kernow said, perfectly normal, time the cam up and all will be fine! :)
