Can you actually use copper water pipes on a car as the main supply lines???
Or would this be a bad idea?

i have used Aluminium pipes for mine, but i do work for an aluminium extrusion company. i do know spag used copper pipe for his V8 mini to run pipe to rad in the rear. cant see why it should be an issue, unless antifreeze react badly against copper

Not seen any issues, but as a word of warning Si, The Porsche has an aluminium block, and we use phosphate free antifreeze as the normal stuff clogs up the waterways! You may want to think about that on yours. Its the expensive one in Halfrauds with the Mobil badge on the front. :(

Copper phosphate!? Never heard of it, but then I'm no chemist! :xxx:

i do like v8's and i do like mini's but i not always a fan when the two are combined. i mean that mini looks great but just a little odd is all.

i'm more a fan of keeping it looking as stock as possably but having alot of grunt on hand.

still nice mind.

I use copper pipes on my Minis for coolant hoses. Never had any problems with them. Both my Mini van, and the woody estate have copper pipes along the top of the engine to connect to the heater tap....
