I bought one of these a while back and not had a problem. When I got it from them it came with accesories and gas but when the gas ran out I got an adapter to use my full size bottle.

I recommended one of these to another forum member and he ended up buying it and i have heard since from him that he is pleased with it.

I had one briefly but it got badly damaged in a flood. Before that though, i was impressed with the performance for the money.

Its not the best machine out there obviously but it is easy to use and works very well.

Might be worth considering?

as stonemonkey said above, it's well worth getting the adaptor to run the hobbyweld or adams gas cylinders if you plan to do a lot of welding as the small bottles run out in no time!

+1 for the Wolf, I'm sure that all welders in this very low price range are all the same with different names stuck on them. It's the same with compressors.

I would go with the clarke , just because you have a face to deal with and easy spares etc .

Spares are available for the Wolf through UKHS as well as other places.

I think they use generic components anyway. Like harry said, the clarke is probably about the same anyway

I have a gas / no gas welder and to be honest I've only used it without gas..... Reason being is when I first got my mini it was outside and so I was welding in windy conditions where gasless can only be used really, I still use gasless now I have a garage..... I guess it's all down to personal preference really..... Some people say gasless weld is crap but I've made big steel racks with mine which hold a lot of weight and have no problems.... It does tend to burn through the thin panels tho if your not used to it

Cheers james

UK Home Shopping are superb to deal with for enquiries and parts. They sent me a new wire feed reel thing for nothing the other day and it's out of warranty.

My welder from them was an ex display and it came through with a 0.9 wire feed roller. I sent them an e-mail and they replied within half an hour and the 0.6 roller turned up the next morning along with a spare shroud and a packet of tips.

Mind you, the welder was ordered 4:30PM one day and arrived by courier at 9:30 the following morning.

great service

I assumed wrong then ,  alot of stuff from ebay is just a home office and a shipping container  , with little back up .  If you can get a deal and back up then thats great .

I've got the Clarke 135t which I know a lot of hobby welders buy, including a lot of people on here - which is the main reason I bought it. I've had no probs with it, had it about a year.
