My heater valve tap has started leaking, and due to the horror stories on here of them suddenly exploding I have decided to get rid of it altogether.

 

DSN classics do just a stub to allow the hose to plumb straight onto the head, my only confusion is what size do I need?

 

The options are 1/2" hose or a 5/8" hose size.

 

My Mini is an 850cc 1979 model. So if anyone knows the hose size for that engine/year I would be keen to know.
