hi, I am hoping I the coming months to do a 7.5 cooper s brake swap on my 79 mini with drums. I want to paint them bright red and I love the rustoleum painters touch rattle cans. I'm worried though that they may get hot enough to need specific high temp paint?

Calipers shouldn't be getting that hot.

I've used red Hammerite on brake callipers with no issues. Discs and pads get hot, but callipers don't get seriously hot, certainly not enough to warrant HT paint really.

It's down to preparation more than anything.

If they're getting hot enough to destroy the paint you'll be boiling the brake fluid and possibly damaging the rubber seals.

Make sure everything is in tip top condition and not binding

The same is true of engine paint.  If your engine gets hot enough to damage it... you have more important things to worry about than what the paint looks like.
