I have got a set of rover minilights that will need shot blasting and powder coating.

shall i do this or get some wellers?

i need new tyers as well so i could get them as a package for the wellers.

I have 10inch mini lights and they are great but i wouldnt mind a set of wellers as i think they look great, so i think you should go for wellers

Stick with minilights in my opinion, but sell them and save up for some 10inch ones! cant beat a mini on 10's :xxx:

If they are Rover Minilites then they'll probably be 4.5" wide, so for racing I'd go for Wellers which can be wider for a bit more traction (like mine - 5.5" wide).

Wellers! The ones with the holes rather than the spoked ones too. Much cooler than minilites! :xxx:

Demon tweeks have quated me £360 for 12" and huddersfild spares have quoted £300 but they only do them in a 13" an i need a 12".

Would the standard mini steely be the same in strength as a weller wheel?

Ive thought that i could get my standard steely powder coated in white and have some yoko A539's fitted.

To be honest, standard steelies in some ways are better. The wells on wellers are very shallow, so if the tyres are a little low in pressure, the tyres will come off the bead a bit to easily for my liking, especially in competition where they get a bit of death..

Yesterday I was off down the local scrappy for a few bits, which included a 12" steelie with decent tyre, which there wore none.

And found a set of 5 12" Wellers with brand new ish tyres for £65, just need to finish wire brushing off the rust and repaint them.

Not bad considering I paid £50 for a par of 145/70 12 tyres a few months back.
