Hi

Any tips to remove my steering wheel? I've tried oil, a bit of heat. Pulling it really hard, with the nut half on of course lol.
It just doesn't seem to want to budge!

Any ideas welcome! :)

I loosen the nut and bash the wheel towards me with the palms of my hands. Not failed yet.

Whatever you do don't take the nut all the way off otherwise you will end up wearing the steering wheel round your face!!!

Easiest method is loosen the nut off enough that there is enough room for the wheel to move back then give it an almighty pull back and it should shift (might take a few goes).

It won't budge by pulling it. I'm not weak and I've pulled it using my legs pressing the floor! It won't budge lol.

Think the puller is the only way with this one! Lol I will win the battle in the end!!!

Try turning the column back and forth quickly whilst you pull, then a couple taps with a rubber mallet then turn/pull again

I did mine yesterday, first time its been off since 1987 im certain, ran the nut almost off, wrapped a dead blow hammer in a carrier bag because it was oily and greasy! Took a good few hits either side as near to the shaft (ooh err) as I could hit it, off.

At home I use a puller.  When helping someone and I don't have my tools I use the method John Twist of University Motors uses.  Loosen the nut and unscrew it enough to cover the ends of the threads in the column.  Wedge your knees firmly behind the wheel to support it.  Then place a heavy drift against the nut and strike it with a very heavy hammer blow.
