Hello!

I'm taking Emily Mini on holiday to the netherlands next week, I've looked up various threads about driving in europe does anyone have any tips?

I've got all the usual things you need to take with you etc plus spares for the mini too. Its not going to involve much driving as we are on the coast near to the ferry port. :)

I assume many people have used the headlight coverter stickers before? How do you fit them? I have no idea where to position them on the lights!?

For the GB sticker, I already have a silver stick on GB on the boot one of the plastic letter types, will this be suitable? I do have another magnetic one too, probably worth taking just incase!

I've got breakdown and made sure Insurance is definately covered so i think I've thought of everything, fingers crossed!

The only thing not looking forward to is being queasy on the ferry!

but I'm just a little bit excited about this mini adventure!! :D

Ta, Clo :-)

Are you going tenting, or hoteling?

Make sure you have Sat Navs up to date! I went to Lille and found out the road my hotel was on didn't exist on my Garmin!

Have you decided on where yet Chloe? As, can recommend an amazing campsite/park  that has recently added chalet's to their site. It's called Spaarnwoede, and it's 5 mins from Haarlam, and roughly 20 mins from Amsterdam.

You'll need one of those yellow reflective vests inside the car in case the car would break down , or incase the police asks you to stop and they check it... ( don't know if it is prohibited in england :P )

If you like Animals and zoos, make the trip to Rotterdam since you're not far. Their Zoo is the best i've ever been to. The aquarium part is better than most standalone attractions in the uk.

Zoo has got a large car park with a BP petrol station just outside as well.

It so good that Zoo, last time i stayed in Lille i drove the 2h 30 to get there. Managed to make the border control laugh though on the way back on the tunnel.

Border Control: "So sir, where have you been this week?"

Me: "France, Belgium and Holland"

BC: "All in one day?"

Me: Well yes, i stayed in France, and you have to drive through Belgium to get there.

BC: And why did you do that?

Me: To go to the Zoo!

BC *laughs* go on through!
