hi i have started stripping parts ready for shot blasting and powder coating or sprayers.. i am wondering on a super deluxe was the handbrake leaver white? as mine is atm... also was the steel wheels the same color as the cars or was they white to? my subframes and running gear are all getting shot blasted and powder coated gloos black or painted not sure whats the best method and the best finish.. any help would be great i want it to be as original as i can get it..

I am not sure about the Deluxe but I thought the Super Deluxe would have used the same color schemes as the Cooper and -S which would have had wheels painted "Old English White". As above, handbrake would have been black.

I have tried powder coating and 2Pac and cant see any difference they are 5 years old and both still looking good no rust on either. Some people say powder coating is too brittle but it worked for me. Cost me £100 to strip and paint each one

thanks ile get them ready to be sent of. the handbrake would be ok for shot blasting? its metal one..

Powder coating isn't original.
The wheels would have been off white unless it is a late Mk 1 in which case they would have been silver. I did read somewhere on a forum that the wheels were painted by Dunlop so the shade of a particular colour can vary a lot.
