I think you can get fiberglass pickup shells from somewhere which could be an option.

Apart from the length difference (already mentioned) the B post detail and the roof are different.
You can buy just about all the panels from m- machine if you have deep pockets.
I have a jig for mine and with a combo of heritage and m- machine it's possible
(My PUPs are genuine and I am rebuilding them on the jig to be be sure they are straight and true).Attached File  image.jpg   76.99K   22 downloads

That looks a bargain and perfect for what you want, all you need is to make your own Jig and then build it up with that, and sheet steel.

sorry to hijack slightly but I've been thinking about turning my wolseley hornet into a pickup for ages. my plan would be to cut the roof off along the seam under the rear window, then carry on the inside of the back fins until you hit the boot aperture. I would then skin the inside with steel and cut the top of the bootlid off, tuck and roll the top for a nice finish then hinge it at the bottom so it opens flat, but still have most of the finned look to it. the one thing that has always worried me is what to do with the roof and cab back? the car already has a flip steel front and big arches so cutting it up more is no worry. the hope was that it would have a bit of a fifties US pickup look to it? this might be one pipe dream too far though. what do you think

Aaaargh, shame. I've been away from the forum for a while. This question has been plaging me for a while. I'm obessed with pickups, but i can't afford the 5 grand plus they are asking for...;-(

I know, hence the problem. A few months ago i saw a shell with only a roof sell for quite a bit, i figured i'd probably be only be able to buy a mot worthy pick up. So i gave up on it, i still want one though...One day if the lotto funds me
