Have used parcel monkey several time without issue and they offer good service IMO. They are however just a brokerage for the courier companies and don't actually deliver anything themselves.
We also use DX on a national contract at work. One of my biggest customers is in Southampton and I won't send a thing to them via DX as that depot is worse than useless. I bring in our old provider for their pallets.
DX in general are pretty poor and when it does go wrong, they have the ability to mess it up spectacularly.
Hope you get it sorted.

I have had quite a few delays using P2G and Parcel Monkey. Middle men for the real companies. For small stuff I use Collect Plus where I drop it off to a local shop, hence no waiting in! Otherwise I use My Hermes. I did use Paisley Freight (another middle man for DHL this time) last week for a body panel for my VW camper and it was to the wire after waiting in all day for them to collect.

Hit and miss for me.
Had a few good ones: one failed on collecting and the other was a mistake at TNT telling me I could collect from the depot next day, then returning the item before I got there.
I got into a very heated argument with the supposed senior lady of parcel monkey who told me I had to verify it with parcel monkey, even though I had a missed delivery notice from TNT themselves with instructions to deal with TNT to discuss the miss delivery and re-collection.
Awful woman holding their fort, a real chip on her shoulder when I asked to speak with someone higher as she was doing loops and totally missing the point. Never used them since.

On a side note, Amazon have got sloppy, hiring a lot of Asians who can barely speak english. I was looking by pure chance out my front window on Saturday when I watched a guy drop off a tin of hammerite to my front door. Didn't even knock, just dropped it and walked off. As I opened the door, he just pointed and muttered something native and carried on.
Not good! Glad it wasn't expensive.
At least the Hermes man I have locally is creative and hides my parcels in safe areas.

They employ taxi drivers in my area to do delivery and pick up, shocking service!
Once, one of them had a fare in the back.

I use 'ParcelHero'. They have shipped all sorts of things for me and all have arrived quickly and efficiently. I just (today) sent 2 books to Los Angeles. The cost £16. Parcel Force wanted £25 but the parcel was 13 gm over their weight limit.
At Christmas I sent presents to my grandkids in France. Royal Mail wanted £90, but ParcelHero charged £37 and they arrived within 48 hours.
I sent a 970 'S' crank to Sweden and it arrived the next day whilst a crank sent to Jersey also arrived within 24 hours.
Excellent service and I highly recommend them.
