Hey all,

Contacted Matt @ Motorsport Electronics today about getting NoDiz Pro for my mini; after going through many coils and most recently being drowned in the rain at MITP changing one. I have decided to plump for Nodiz.

When I said I saw it on TMF in the group buy done back in February 2013 he was happy to do another. Normal price is £269 + VAT

If I can get 5 others we can have it for £235 incVAT + £8 for postage.

You will receive:

  • NODIZ Pro
  • unterminated loom
  • bluetooth dongle

Payment will be to motorsport electronics by Paypal

Put some info from their site below (With Permission from Matt). Personally I like the gadgets so the android dash and launch control sound awesome!

If you interested put you name below and we will go from there..

NODIZ Pro™ Features

NODIZ%20Pro%20Ignition%20Controller.jpg

The NODIZ Pro™ is a state of the art microprocessor controlled digital stand-alone, fully mappable ignition controller for 4, 6 or 8 cylinder spark ignition engines. It can be used either to replace older distributor based ignition systems for more modern coil packs, or even to allow the running of carburettors on more modern engines which do not feature a distributor drive.

It is truly 3D, giving an advance angle based not only on engine speed but also on engine load, which can be derived from either its optional in-built Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP), or using a potentiometer type Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

Using MAP, means it can even be used to retard timing as boost increases, such as with turbocharged or supercharger configurations.

The NODIZ Pro™ is incredibly simple to install, and will always arrive pre-loaded with a suitable base-map of your choice. With only seven connections to make, you can be up and running in a matter of minutes, and if you opted for a pre-loomed system, this can be even quicker!

To use the NODIZ Pro™ you will need, at a minimum, the following components. All can be obtained from the other parts section of our website.

  • Trigger Wheel
In the case of modern engines this will probably already either be cast into the flywheel, or fitted to the front pulley. Note that direct support for many OEM trigger wheels is being added. (Currently 36-1 and 60-2 is fully supported.)
  • Crank Sensor
A standard 2 Wire VR type crank sensor for reading the Trigger Wheel.
  • Coil Pack
Standard Wasted Spark 'dumb' coil pack. Ford style ones work best and universal ones are available from us.

If you are using a TPS based NODIZ Pro™, then you will also need a 3-wire TPS sensor fitted to your throttle linkage/carburettor(s).NODIZ%20Tuning%20Software.jpg

In addition to the above most direct and simple installation, the NODIZ Pro™ also features the following:

  • 16 Load by 16 Speed Sites, with full 3D interpolation and user definable Speeds/Loads.
  • User settable RPM Soft and Hard Cut Rev Limiters.
  • In-built coil drivers, no need for EDIS or other modules.
  • Coolant based ignition adjustment map (To add advance to cold engines, etc.).
  • Intake Air Temperature ignition adjustment map, to allow timing retarding based on intake temperature to reduce pinking on very high intake temperatures.
  • Cranking based advance angle to help start high compression engines.
  • A programmable Shift Light output.
  • 12v Tachometer Output.
  • Launch Control :: Customer Video
  • A programmable output based on either RPM (i.e. V-TEC control), coolant temperature (i.e. Fan Control) or Intake temperature (i.e. Water Injection control).
  • Bluetooth™ Communication (dongle provided) and apps currently being developed to allow tuning with your mobile, as well as GPS and video data-logging. Customer Video of NODIZ Dash in use.

Digital Dash for Android

Also, use your android phone or tablet for a fully featured digital dashboard. Android tuning software is currently in development and due for release soon....

Can it be made clear what you are actually getting for your money...

Reason I ask is that it seems just to be a module

Do you also get

- Trigger wheel and sensor

- Coil Pack

- Bracketry

- Wiring Loom
- HT Leads

- MAP

- Lambda ( wide or narrow band )

- TPS

Anything else I may have forgotten....

Hi GW

It is the NODIZ ECU, unterminated wiring loom, and Bluetooth dongle.

Try not to think of it as a simple 'module' - it is a full ignition engine management system with all the features you would expect. A similar system with Omex, or DTA on the label (and these have less features) costs normally £150+ more!

We can supply all other parts if required but most source their own during the build ups. MED for example make an excellent trigger wheel iirc, and many NODIZ Mini users have used that in the past. That and a brand new Ford Coil pack is around £25-£35, and leads around £15, means its just more affordable to source locally than for us to ship the easily obtainable stuff...

You also wouldn't use lambda control with ignition only - as it has no control over the fuelling.

Hope that helps,

Regards,

Matt

SMM,

I think the guy was just correcting the other one - doesen't really effect the NODIZ, its price, or the offer :)

I will have an admin clean it up as it is essentially irrelivant.

Regards,

Matt

I'm confused now.  I wouldn't be able to get any of these components on this rock, can you tell me the price for the complete kit as above?

To get all the extra bits youre probably looking at £150 - making the kit around £380 which is not far off MJ kits out there with custom terminated looms.

I'm still waiting to see results form this system as it seems the answer to not finding an EDIS unit, which is the MJ central component.

And it is possible to lose a spark on one cylinder, I don't pretend to understand how due to how they are set up. I changed a coil pack on my mrs bosses ford focus two weeks ago, misfire on pot 4 as per diag, new coilpack and job done.

I believe you will only require the following:

- Trigger wheel and sensor

- Coil Pack

- Bracketry

- Ignition Leads

I have emailed Motorsport electronic for clarification.
