I have upgraded my wiper arms to the thicker versions and got new wiper blades but they are still really poor, especially it seems in the middle of each blade (where you want them to work best). Has anyone found a way to improve their performance?

My wipers are the poor chrome type. To remedy their poor performance I use rainX. Works a treat. I know others have had success with land rover arms and Bosch blades.

I'm using lightly modified Landrover Defender wiper arms on mine, they work very well - there was a thread on here two or three days ago if you look.  I've also applied this gear: http://www.angelwax....-rain-repellent to my screen, the result is I don't actually have to use my improved wipers very often at all!

+1 on what Richie said, I put Rainex on as my wipers are naff and its much better now - although my Mini rarely comes out of the garage if there's a threat of rain!

i found the heavy duty ones were crap, and just smeared the water. I replaced mine with original hook arm types, and bosch wiper blades. big difference!

I bought aero wiper blades off eBay, only about 5 quid sent and actually really good.

I like the look of the chrome ones so would prefer to stick to them, I'll see how the angel wax works first. Thanks
