my RSP was originally fitted with hinged type rear windows. at some point she's been modded to "fixed" type.

I'm considering changing them back....

1) is the glass different between the 2 types.

2) is it worth it? .there not much originality left in the car so its not really important; more of a whim really.

any advice?

Different glass and seals. Not hard to do.

I'd leave it. They're usually the cause for the rust around the bottom edge of the frame when they drop.

As above the metal surround around the edge of the opening type tends to rub against the bodywork and also trap rain water at the bottom creating a corrosion point, which is why many people convert to the non opening type.

I like rear opening windows, as you can leave them open without having wind in your face.

I'm so glad I have opening windows when it's roasting outside although you could just crack the door windows, I'm not sure what it's like for people sitting in the back though. I can't tell they are open while I'm driving other than the noise!

to be honest there is virtually no gap between the seat backs and the rear seat anyway on mine; wind noise wouldn't be an issue; rear passengers would be more concerned with the lack of blood flow to their ankles.

I have one mini with opening rears, and the other with the sealed type. I'm not doubting the ventilation benefits of rear openers, they're better for rear passengers and also highly preferable in terms of looks/aesthetics too. It's widely recognised that they do encourage corrosion though, which in classic mini ownership terms, is usually the primary thing to avoid. The other issue is security, in that the opening type are much more vulnerable to break ins than the sealed type are.

Openers for me, if they touch the body when closed they need adjusting a bit.

Mine got broken into by pry baring the rear opening windows. Wish they'd just used a screwdriver. Also the one side had a lot of corrosion where water was sitting on the waste rail. I'm not a fan of opening rears

Why'd they bother with a pry bar? There's easier ways to get into a mini (unfortunately).
