I have seen this item on eBay

It claims to fix any slight blown head gasket which I have. Would you recommend it as I'm not confident in changing the head gasket myself,
Thank you

In all my years i have never had any luck with any of these wonder products and that there is no real substitute for doing things properly, a gasket set will set you back less than a tenner and and is really not a difficult job to change just get a good manual and take your time or im sure someone local to you wont mind helping if you lack confidence and the job will be done properly, don't waste your money on this stuff.

Snake Oil was popular way back and this is the modern day version, get a manual or maybe anothe member nearby can help run you through it. Do you have a manual and the tools? Torque Wrench included?

The Elliots product does not list their ingredients except as "proprietary". Therefore, while I don't know for sure what is in the bottle I feel comfortable suggesting it is probably a blend including sodium silicate.
Sodium silicate (water glass) has been around for a long time and its use to fix cooling systems is well documented. I would say with confidence that if you had a cracked block that was allowing coolant into places it shouldn't be... this stuff would work for a while. If what you have is a blown head gasket... not so much.
Diagnose where the problem really is. If it looks to be the head gasket, remove the head, have it checked for flatness and fit a new gasket. Save this stuff for emergency repairs to delay replacing radiators. Don't use it in place of replacing a head gasket.

The first question I would ask is..
Are you loosing coolant ?
If not then this will not fix anything, and may cause more problems than it'll solve.

A mate of mine bought an E39 Beemer with h/g issues and used this. Bugger me it worked. However, he is selling the car so its only a cheap & quick fix so he can flip the car. Personally, although it worked, i would never use it on any of my own vehicles.

Yeah I am losing a small amount of coolant for very minimal miles i am doing.
There is no issues with performance on each piston.
How much would a garage charge for a new head gasket?
thanks
