Hi everyone,

I have a problem on my Mini MPi. There is a knocking noise coming from the drivers side footwell when ever I accelerate, power on and off or change gear (I know it isn't the gearbox as it was refurbished this year).

I just cannot figure out, I have changed the tie rod bushes, engine steady top and bottom bushes, outer cv joint, checked the ball joints both sides and greased, moved the exhaust away from the engine so to not come into contact, I have all 3 ultimate engine steadies bottom right, top left and gearbox. All bushes are good.

Only thing I have not replaced is engine mounts, knuckle joints is it going to be these? As my wallet cannot suffer much more! I also wondered could something else be loose like the shocks and when I push down on the wing of the car on the drivers side, my mini makes a clicking, clonking noise?

Thank you, I hope somebody can help as I have been scratching my head of a long time! icon_smile.gif

Thanks guys, I have solid subframe mounts and front ones recently replaced and i checked for tightness all ok. Would it be the engine mounts? They seem to be intact when I inspect them. Or suspension problem, also just to let you know I checked bearings as well, all ok.. Thanks guys :)

Steering rack could be loose.......check the exhaust is not fouling the tunnel.....or the rod change......
