While we currently do not have a mini, my daughter and I are in full-on research and planning for our 2015 mini restoration project.  For welding and metal work, what is the typical and max metal thickness on the mini?    I have tried searching, but coming up short.  Where might I find technical details concerning Mini panel breakdown or illustrated parts breakdown?

Many Thanks

Typical thicknesses are 0.8mm for panels suck as door skins, boot and some internal panels. 1.2 mm for structural panels such as the bulkhead, flitch.etc.

Buy a cheap pair of digital vernier calipers that way you can check as you go.

All external panels are 0.9mm thick. The toeboard rear heelboard lower bulkhead are 1.2mm thick. The front crossmember is a minimum of 1.2mm thick.

Inner wings, floors, boot floors, roof etc are all 0.9mm thick.

This is useful information when repairing panels, remember that you can buy new panels though.
