What are people's opinions on using an anti seize compound on the crank taper where the flywheel mounts?

I've lapped the two together and cleaned both areas thoroughly, but I'm wondering if I can add a thin smear of copper grease / WD40 / anti seize lube to help get the flywheel and clutch off when needed.

Cheers

ive never heard of it, no one in historic mini racing

ever mentioned doing this, I would imagine the flywheel would come loose

but lets see what the experts say

doesn't it rely on the friction? normally small angle tapers like that are used to drive things such as a morse taper on drills etc. someone must have tried it though?

If you've lapped the crank on properly, then there will not be an issue removing it in the future....

If you do have trouble then you should get one of these....

I like the look of that. I have a feeling I will be ordering one later as I think I need to re cut the threads in the flywheel center on mine....

Looks a good bit of kit.

Hopefully I've lapped the flywheel in enough?

If not I'll have to use my old centre boss as my new flywheel is attached to the clutch, would this be okay if required?

Cheers again

As said above the taper gripping tight is essential, it's this that holds the flywheel on rather than the bolt. Really don't grease it.

Maybe not as I don't think the holes were correct. I only noticed after fitting the flywheel that something was amiss. And that was 20 some years back.

But to be honest I am liking your products.

The main thing about that puller is the fine thread compared to the others.
