I'm in need of a replacement ignition barrel with keys for my '76 Clubman don't know if I can just replace the barrel it's self on my ignition and steering lock assembly? If anyone has one to sell or if they know whether I could just replace the barrel it's self I would be very happy. Many thanks.

Visit Mini Spares and look up their part BHM7107. Since you need a lock with keys, you will be better off buying a new unit rather than used. BHM7107 comes with the ignition switch as well as the lock. You may want to take the new lock to a locksmith to see if he can re-key it or your door locks so you only need one key for the car.
To get the old lock off you will need to remove any column shrouds fitted and saw slits into the top of the existing shear bolts so you can remove the existing lock assembly. When I last had to do this I used a thin cut-off wheel on a die grinder to cut the slots. Once slotted all you need is a screwdriver to remove them. You can install the new lock using the new shear-head bolts supplied with it or you can replace them with comparable length 5/16 UNC socket head cap screws. I prefer the cap screws as you can take the lock off again if you ever need to.
