1293cc '80's Metro engine and 'box - rod change.
When I engage reverse, 60% of the time it goes in properly. When it won't go in properly it crunches, not always the same level of crunch though. If, when it's properly crunchy and impossible to get into gear without making a hideous grinding noise, I can drive forward 3ft it'll be less crunchy, if I drive forward a further 3ft it will go in nicely. What would be the cause of this?
