Every time I reverse the engine try to stall. Sometimes it does if I don't blip the throttle quick enough.
Just wondered what it could be?
Thanks

Could be wiring problems, as the engine will rock slightly the opposite way to normal, could be something like earth strap for example.
Could also try disconnecting the wire from the reverse light switch, underneath the gear stick, see if that solves it, as it may be shorting on something

Had the same problem when driving forward because of worn steady bushes. Basically every time i moved the car the rocking engine pulled out a sensor. When stationary the sensor stayed in place, might be worth rocking the engine (if it rocks the steady bushes need replacing) and watch for anything coming loose or rubbing. How's your engine mountings and steady bushes? Old nova I had, used to engage abit of choke on reversing, causing it to stall. Not sure if it could be the same for a mini....

It has got a lumpy cam and a light flywheel though. Could it be that?
