[Curare]

Hey all, just a quick question to see if I'm alone in this problem, or whether everyone else has had the same issue.

I recently bought a Tri-Lite halogen headlight kit for my 88 mayfair, and while I can simply plug and play for the headlights the park lights are a problem.

 

The park lights are a small fitting at the bottom of the bulb, and while they fit with no plugs attached, if I fit spade connectors to the plug it fouls on the headight socket in the body of the car.

 

Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you get around it?

 

Currently I'm running without park lights which while I'm not overly worried about I don't want to get tested by the police and get stung.

I think I pulled the plastic connector off and remade it with just spades to find the space.

This is very common on cars with metal headlamp bowls. Which is a problem as they then short out and blow the fuse when you put the sidelights on! You can swap them for plastic bowls which have more space and don't short out, or you can adjust the bowls in the critical position with a hammer and punch, or modify the connector as said above.
