You can now download the whole list of cars traded in for scrap under the scrappage scheme in 2009 and see how many minis are no longer on the road:

unfortunately the list is based on what the dealer recorded rather than what was written on the V5, so its likely that many more limited editions were lost but just recorded as Mini. Data quality of the list was quite poor, a number of Mini Ones were recorded as scrapped when they wouldn't have been old enough for the scheme at that point.
