Hi, been reading vizards book about the weber 48 IDA, but seeing as they are hard to get hold of... My question is can/is it worth fitting a IDF Weber onto my 998? Also what size 44 or 48? I know I would have to have a manifold made up as they don't exist. Any comments suggestions would be great... (No sarcstic or unhelpful comments please) just don't fancy the standard Su/hiff/dcoe carbs. Thanks in advanced.

If the car is for serious motorsport it might well be worth considering this as even a couple of extra bhp helps.

However, for a road car it is a lot of work for no real gain in overall driving terms. More gain from building a really nice engine with a good flowed head, a better cam and a good induction/exhaust system.

Road use don't bother.

A race engined on maybe. But check your rules and regs first.

IDAs can still be bought new. The hard part is the manifold.
