Is there a SAFE way to do this and get a neat cut with braided fuel hose in place? I have cut lengths before using an angle grinder with a thin cutting disc but this was off a reel never been used.

I would stick with the grinder and a 1mm stainless steel cutting disc. This will give you a nice clean cut, If using a hacksaw make sure the blade is new and fine teeth.

Masking tape and a sharp Stanley knife make a neat cut. Mart.

Hi all, thanks for your replies. I have cut this stuff before and managed to get the rubber end caps on to prevent fraying when in use. The ones I want to cut are currently connected and probably have fuel in down stream, but to get a neat cut would mean power tool that would create sparks...! Think I'll remove and probably renew while I am there.

When i used to make braided pressure hoses in the RAF we used a bench mounted cutter that had a very fine toothed circular saw blade. You still taped the area to be cut and made a perfect cut everytime.
