Hi all

I'm in the middle of rebuilding my 86 Mayfair and I would like one of the Paddy Hopkirk accelerator pedal covers to aid heel and toe but when I've seen them for sale they're listed as only for mk1 and 2.

Is there a good reason why I can't use one? Will it simply not fit on my bigger pedal?

Yep it's due to the pedal size difference, as you can see in the below pic the mounting plate will only fit around a small pedal. you could easily modify the mounting bracket or the pedal. maybe place the PH cover on your pedal mark the holes and either drill and tap the pedal or put nuts on the bolts.

Take a grinder to the edges of the pedal to make it narrower?

Be careful if you do though!

Or just don't use the back bit and drill through the pedal.

Or fit a MPI pedal? I just fitted one to the wife's car; I like it.

My 82 has a smaller pedal and my 85 has a larger one.

I still used the saddle and just drilled through the pedal.

I also filed the rear of the paddy hopkirk pedal flat, if memory serves me correctly, you will need to do this.

Could you not just drill through the old pedal and fit the rear piece of the pedal backwards so its flat?

Thanks for the replies, sorry I've been slow getting back to you! I think I will most like but one, see if it fits and then if not drill the pedal.

Thanks guys :)
