I am replacing my fuel regulator, and have a Sytec adjustable one up to 100psi. Am running retro fitted fuel injection system, using MPI tank. Before when I had the same unit, I ran the system like:

Fuel feed into T piece - one end to fuel regulator and one off to injectors

The bottom connector was the return

Fuel pressure guage on the other side of the regulator

Is this correct? Am not sure how the unit works, but I dont see what stops the fuel direct from tank going to the injectors from the pressure in the MPI tank pump via the T piece. It seemed to work before but maybe the MPI fuel tank pressure was enough to begin with and the fuel pressure regulator is not needed?

Just found a pic

You can see the fuel line in from the tank (braided hose on right of picture) then the T piece to injectors, then a connection into the regulator.

The bottom hose you can just about see is the return, and on the opposite side of the unit is the fuel pressure guage.

Surely you have the regulator first and then to injectors and return to tank. Others wise the regulator has no effect on the pressure to the injectors. Unless I have read your post wrongly!

Tank fuel pump then to fuel rail for the injectors then regulator back to the tank. That way you can keep fuel rail full at all times then if to much pressure you just open up regulator back to the tank.does not mater pressure Runing to rail as you want it filled all the time. That's my thought and how I would run it.

Just got new regulator and there are 3 holes. One has a plug in it already from new. This leave one input and one output..! So all I can do is connect the fuel in from tank/pump, and then t-off to injectors. I found a diagram using google which is exactly how I have it albeit from a Ford site, but in principal its the same, and based on what I have just bought with two possible connections, I am sure its the correct way. Just waiting for the thread seal to cure before installing tomorrow and testing :-)

As superteddyeddy has said if you injector rail has a return like the specialist components 5 port injection system. The blanked off port in the new reg is for a pressure gauge to check the delivery pressure I would imagine.

Yep, thats right, there is a fuel pressure guage that screws into the blaned off hole.
