[Wise Old Elf]

Bit of a weird one. Both of these rear hubs are from the same car but one has a groove and the other does not.

I don't think I have ever had 2 on the worktop at the same time so would not have noticed before.

 

Can anyone explain why they are different? 

 

Apart from the groove they look pretty much the same so I have no worries popping in new bearings and putting them one but I am curious

I'm right it's the spring with the offset bar that can be assembled up or down. I know how to make those marks!
