I have come to the stage where I need to set the Primary gear end float but as my engine was in bits when I bought it, I have been unable to find the thrust washer. Nuts.
I presume that it will be difficult to measure the size of thrust washer needed without having a thrust washer as a starting point? It looks like I will have to buy one, do the measurements then change it for the right size? I think it's unlikely that I can get it right first time by pure luck..

Thrust washer nuts ??
When I set my primary gear I fitted the gear with washer etc and I used the feeler gauge method to see how much end float I had and I think I had about 8thou end float I think I needed around 5-6 thou . I may be wrong on them figures it was a while ago now
But all I done was measure my washer with a vernier gauge then rung mini spares and had a chat with them and they sold me the correct thickness washer .
Beware though there about £30
