Hi, I need to replace the wiper park switch. On our previous mini I managed to change it without taking the motor off, but it was rather tricky. Does anyone have any advise about removing the wiper motor to replace the park switch. Any help would be great. Cheers.

Just undo the strap that goes over the top then lift it up, the switch sort of slides out, if you look at the new one with the motor in your hand you should be able to see which way it needs to 'unhook', Click the new one in and refix the motor, just wiggle it around until it seats in the right spot without the bracket having to keep it in place rather than using the bracket to force it into position, refix the strap and after a few wipes the motor will normally find its own spot again IME. You will find it easy once you have done it, not a bad idea to clean under the motor while you are in the corner though, old rotten wet leaves and minis are not the best of friends ![]()

Many thanks for that, I just wondered if it was easier to take the motor out and if there was an easy way to do.it.

I can't see the need, but if you want to, remove the screws from the cover plate and you'll be able to unhook the end of the rack from the crank and housing.
If you stop the motor (using ignition key) away from the park position it'll make fitting the park switch a little bit easier.

That's what i was going to suggest.
Easiest way to remove it is to un-do cover and unhook the cable from inside.
As Pete said though, not really any need to remove it to replace the park switch

Well thanks again all, I think I'll take your advise and leave the motor in. Thanks for taking the time to help.

Ah good work. Good tip about stopping the wipers mid sweep to make it easier, never thought of that. My motor is dying so I will be unhooking the cable which ive never done before sounds easy enough then?
Just undo the 4 screws, take the cover off and beneath there is an arm linked to the large cog. the cable links onto that arm with a c clip. Pop that off, un-do the nut on the end of the motor housing and it will come away.
