Because I was a bit worried about my 38 year old wiring I went for H4 35W bulbs which made one helluva difference over the candle-power sealed beams. I'll be getting a custom relayed loom and going up to 55W though.

Will an '88 mini's loom cope with a straight swap to 55w halogen bulbs?
It should do if its in good condition. However its always a good idea to use relays. Mine currently just run of the standard wiring but the loom is only a year old and I do plan to fit a relay system in the near future.

Splintercat I got the KC 7"lights from the bay of E and the projectors come from theretrofitsource.com in the US. There is a fair bit of dremel work and trial and error but they work out good in the end.
Cheers

Thanks for that gonna have to look into this a lot deeper than I thought. I see that everyone and their dog is doing this in the motorcycle world and was tempted just to buy 2 of the 7" headlamps advertised on the various bike websites but that kinda takes the fun out of it though......So no doubt in the near future Ill be in contact again bud thanks........
Will no doubt be trying to contact Scrumpix too for the fun of it......Winter project lol
