My idler bearing has been ground up, and the idler gear shaft is damaged, as is the flywheel housing, so I've got it apart at the moment (I've heard this is a common fault?)

Bought a new casing and other bits, but I need help with a couple of questions.

I've noticed a little bit of play/movement in the main shaft (not the lay shaft which seems fine) Is this OK/normal, or do I need to renew the 2 bearings it runs on?

the little lip on the primary gear, which the oil seal sits beside has teeth marks where its been bitten into by the idler gear as the bearing wasn't supporting it, but since this lip doesn't come into contact with anything can the primary gear be re-used?

It has not eaten through the lip, just the side opposite the oil seal.

And does anyone happen to have a spare idler gear and or primary gear for a 1275 A+ ? Idler has 37 teeth, primary has 29, both are helical cut.

Thanks for your help.
