Hi guys

I have this type of gearbox fitted to my rally mini. I'm having issues with it engaging gears without it crunching! The clutch is adjusted properly and the dog rings are in good condition, what could be causing this to happen? And what can I do to stop it:(

Hey migliacars

As I have never driven with a dogbox, I was unsure if it was normal or not.

So to answer your questions:-

I would say all the time, but can't really hear it when I have my helmet on, but when driving between stages, it was doing it mainly in 2nd. If I took my time it would do it less, and hardly at all in 1st and 3rd.

No the gearbox has been built and used for a number of years, but as you can see from the pics it's looks in very good condition.

I just don't wont to be causing damage to it, but since I have never driving it before I don't know if it's meant to do it.

What I can do is video it so u can hear it, and give me your opinion.

Cheers

Kevin

Cool, so I could be worrying over nothing then.

We'll I will record it just incase ;)

I guess spares for jacknight boxes are quite hard to get hold of now?

Cheers

next to impossible...

Only way to find spares is to buy another second hand box and hope it hasn't got the same broken bits that you have.

Hello,

I have a JKD 5 speed dog box, but I have not used it yet. However, the gearbox do not have the reverse gear. Any idea where I can get it?.

Thank you,

Hugo
