Hi,

Firstly forgive me if this has been posted before.

I'm fitting a Toad Ai606 alarm & immobiliser into my 1988 mini at the weekend and wondered if anyone could advise which wiring circuits I should use to immobilise the car and if possible which colour wires am I looking for and where they are best located?

the car has no electric fuel pump.

I'm guessing the starter motor & possible y the coil.

The alarm has 2 circuits and the maximum load per circuit is 18amps.

If this is to sensitive to post publically then please private message me.

I have also attached the technical data sheet of the alarm.

Hope anybody can help.

Thanks
Darren

Starter motor isn't a bad way of imobilising a car but a circuit which allows the car not to be bump started is good.

Remember that the quality and position of your immobiliser circuit joins is a key factor in the security of your car.

I've done the immobilisation on the starter but your right I do need to immobilise another circuit so it cant be bumped.

problem is which circuit as the mini are fairly basic with there options.

Alarm is all done apart from the 2nd immobiliser so any other advice or help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Well like you said they're fairly basic. It's your choice. Do what's best for your car, I have an spi injection model so I have more options with mine (and my alarm uses external relays so I can split the trigger wire to control as many circuits as I want) but do what you think is best for you

I will when I work out what other one to do.

what options are there apart form the starter which I've already done?

It needs to be wired in the car and the circuit needs to be no more than 18 amps

Ignition is all I can think of to be honest but I'm not very familiar with the older models

if you down load the whole booklet for the alarm it tells you what circuits you connect the immobiliser to from your alarm. It does need to immobilise the ignition system when you turn off your ignition to get its cat 1 status
