Well, I pulled out my rear hi lo's and cones as I'm replacing them for standard ones as its another grand to have ajustable suspension! Anyway, I noticed the knuckle joint was properly stuck, so after alot of pulling I found this!

I beleive I need one of these (the other side is fine).

As I wont get one until Monday, due to the post, and i dont fancy leaving the Mini jacked up on my drive, would it be alright to leave out the nylon cup and put it all back together? It wont be driven, just sat in the garage.

Not worth the trouble. Don't see any HiLos in that picture just a standard cone.

I would replace the knuckle as well.
They can be bought as a set from most motor factors (or could be) ring a local one and ask and you might have it on the road today.

I wouldn't. As said above see if there are any local motorfactors open today that will have one.

But if you really can't get one. Don't put stuff back. Wheel on. Block of wood between radiypus arm and wheel arch, take care of the brake hose. And drop the car onto that and push it into garage.

Plastic has melted to the knuckle joint. So check the radius arm where the knuckle goes in if metal cup bottom is still o.K before you put a new one in.

As above, it is wise to change ball ends and cups on both sides. That way it will be right and not lop-sided. Not exactly a difficult or expensive job (once the fuel tank is out of the way, or a rectangular access hole cut in the rear seat vertical bulkhead on the LH side (if you do this, make up a cover plate and seal it with bathroom sealer).

By the way clean the hole of the radius arm properly to see if the bottom ist oK. I am using a fine torch and burn out all plastic remainders. After that clean it with a brush and nitro solvent. If corrosion on the rims use fine sandpaper to clean up.

Before putting in new plastic cups I smear some copper paste on the inside anf the rim against corrosion.- only a light coating.
