Has any body done a roof chop before ? I have just purchased a mini shell which is solid , it has had all welding completed with new front end and sills . I have a classic mini which I restored a few years ago but now fancy a winter project ! I am looking for guidance in where to start , measurements etc , I plan on doing a the work from welding to paint nd having restored a few minis I am not afraid of a little hard work , any help or ideas welcomed .

I was talking to Andy at IMM, he was saying the roof ended up being 18 pieces or something.

IT does look amazing though

Yup had a good chat with him, signed his roof lining while sitting in the car. Cramped would be an understatement.

It would probably end up in 6 parts mate. I just done one on.another project and it does look awesome but is a fair bit of welding, And metal on a mini isn't great.it will distort. So plenty of filler work
Remember it will shrink from front to back and from side to side when u take how ever much u want out of it from pillars.

And suminc I took for granted, what windscreen will fit?? because i was impatient and looking like I gotto have a jig made that in region of 2k if they can't cut my original screen.

Very nice ! But I'm thinking of a little less drop , more like 3inches . I suppose I should just brace the frame and go for it -a faint heart never accomplished anything
